First of all, hi!

My friend just gave me his laptop which stopped working: he put it in sleep mode for whole night and at the morning computer wasn't booting anymore. I took out hard drive and it shows 0 capacity. MHDD says go to hell so I connected it to terminal and got this:

I dont want to use 7200.11 LBA 0 method on this as as i know its not the right solution (or is it?). However my friend needs only one folder with his important documents so drive don't have to be fully repaired, i need it in state where i can recover data. What can i do?

Nothing without professional tools (and knowing what to do)

P.S. the drive can have SERIOUS problems but only a precise diagnose (with the tools mentioned) can tell. Several thousands EUR worth of equipment, just in case...

So only PC-3000? :( I was hoping that something can be done without this equipment... Thanks anyway!
