Hi everyone,

i have a solid state drive (ADATA S511) which got locked by Drivelock feature from HP Elitebook 8560w

I had set both, user and master password to the same simple number, on first reboot I could unlock the drive with that password.
Later, after a shutdown, the drive wouldnt take my password on boot and gets locked.

I tried to reset the password in BIOS but that requires to enter the master password, which got destroyed somehow.

Now I hope someone here can help me to unlock the drive.
The data on drive is not important for me because it was fresh install, but the drive itself was very expensive so it would be nice to make it usable again.

Thanks so far :)

Hi,

But the lock was made on the BIOS or on the drive itself?

Yes it is, but the drive was bought separately.
Anyway, the HP Support said they can't help and I should buy a new drive.

But I don't want to put this 300$ drive in my garbage

Send the drive into warranty, it's your best shot.
Or else you'll have to pay anyone to remove the password, what might not be so simple in your case.

NOPE! You should do as dmarques said or find a DR company to try and do it for you, if you have proof of ownership of the drive.
