Friends, I have this HDD. Was working the day before, suddenly stopped working next day, no boot/no detection/no sound/dead- silent.

Problem is that when power is connected there is no spindle movement. Checked the PCB for Spindle power connector points, on which there is no power is being supplied to spindle motor. Checked the motor with multi-meter, Motor is OK.

I checked the same power connector points on another working seagate hdd for spindle power, which, should be around 5.00 volts.

The PCB is not BURNT nor any part on it is burnt / damaged / blown.

Can someone help me to What parts/tracks do i check/track on the pcb for supplying power to spindle motor.

The photo is very poor, but I would check for the presence of +12V at the SATA power connector.

The large 5-pin IC at the LHS of the board looks like it may be a multi-output linear regulator, in which case you should measure the voltages on its pins.

There are two transistors above the MCU, one near the jumper block, the other at 1 o'clock to the MCU. Measure their voltages.

Also measure the voltages at the two coils. One is in the bottom left corner, the other is in the top right corner. One of the coils may be connected to ground. If so, then it will be part of the negative supply for the preamp.
