Firmware - CC34
PCB NO. 100438797 ICI

my HDD is dead, not detected in bios, checked all the connections, power, SATA Cables, the same cables and ports detects my other HDDs fine. The drive spins up and warms once the power connected. But not detected in bios. A slight clicking can be heard during startup. The drive worked for al ost an year without any hiccup. Then it started getting disappeared from my drive list, only to reappear after a restart. Then the drive altogether disppeared but still was showing up in the bios,, then that too stopped. I have a lot of my important things stored in the drive, so I would like to get the drive fixed somehow.. I'm a novice in this field.... So please help..
I'm having a dg45id motherboard with win 7 64 bit as OS

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Firmware failure and/or head issue, only diagnose can tell.

Refer to a professional in your area IF data is really important.

Sometimes it is necessary to spend a little money to avoid more serious consequences.

Thank you for your comment, it's simply because there are times when data is important and margin for DIY is close to zero - better safe than sorry.
I don't like to give false illusions to people and it's always difficult to make a diagnose over the internet, nevertheless some symptoms ARE usually related to serious troubles , and tinkering leads to a disaster. This seems one of these.
