Hello,

I would like to selfscan a 5400.4 momentus. SA not accessible. So I downloaded a sd dr firmware 3.AAA. I sent the app then send cert code. Everything is as it should be. Problem arise when i try to send cert table

Code:
T>h
Incompatible Cert code
T>
Buzz HM SFI
!

T>T2,AA,22
Begin Test 02
DiskAccess ReadSector EC=47 at 00f657.00.019c
DiskAccess ReadSector EC=47 at 00f657.00.01be
Unable to load cert table
***** Test 02 NOT Implemented

I also tried h17 command as sd dr cert tables are 17 sectors long but that gave me the same error.

Is there a seagate uberguru that can give me a hint ?

Thank you :D

You have to send both Cert and cert table .

Your drive is probably toast IMO. Are you using SD box by a chance ?

No, I do not have sd box for seagate, I just use the firmware as it is the only one i found. This sequence previously worked on other families and on drives where sa were readable. The only message from the drive when powering up is ERR A6: APP Code. Trying to save cert and app give me "unable to write cert tables info"

@rameez: APP and cert from the same firmware were loaded successfully, h command cannot be issued if cert is not loaded...

Selfscanning now 8) . For those who are interested, the sd dr module must be modified to be send by the sdld protocol after a h command.

Have a nice day!

We (and them ! ) already know it and didn't fix it, what was strange in your case was the fact that the CERT+ TABLES were not available.

If the drive didn't accept it "forcefully", the unique culprit would have been SA or head(s).

P.S. did you try sending TRACKS instead of modules ?

I think the guy who gave me the hdd played with terminal and level t N command.... That's why the sa was blank, with a little luck he also played with adaptives, that could explain the errors.

AAAAAHHHHH.... :D

It's pure luck then if the ROM or something else did not get FUBAR ... In any case (if you are lucky enough and you'll be able to fix the FW later....) you'll be the proud owner of a ... uh... "working" 5400.4 :D
