C:\backup\move.db - Moved - Then Corrupted

May 28th, 2012, 6:49

Morning,

Looking for a bit of advice on the possibility of recovering C:\backup\Move.DB.

I first moved it to C:\run\
I then run a utlity on it which corrupted it and lost it
I then installed both Recuva and Stellar Phoenix to find all potential moved/deleted files from C:\backup which didn't find anything

Is there any other options I have? Data Recovery companys are quoting around £800 + VAT and it's only 1 file I'm trying to retrieve.

Any advice at all is hugely appreciated.

Regards
Joe

What utility did you run and why? How did it get "lost"? More info needed.

First, try as many data recovery software programs as you can find. They are all free to "try" (though, even if they did find a ".db" file, there is probably no telling if it will open and uncorrupted without paying). I'd try at least File Scavenger and R-studio to see if they find anything. Don't just search in \backup, scan the entire drive.

Thanks, I got the problem solved in the end! I didn't even try initialy Right Clicking the folder and using Windows Restore Utility!

Cheers for taking the time to read anyway!
