Netbook model: Samsung NP-N148-DP03PH
S/N: HJDA93AB800258F
HDD: Samsung HM321HI-(S1)
BIOS: Phoenix SecureCore ™ Setup Utility
BIOS version: 01GU
MICOM Version: 01GU

So here's the problem, because I am so curious about this and I tried to put a 'HDD Password' on BIOS on my Netbook and now I mess everything I can't boot up and I am really mad at my self I'm such an idiot ;( because I created this problem and I can't use my netbook anymore. I really feel so hopeless, I tried everything like using a 'Live disk' etc, but still I can't boot because it will always ask for HDD password ;(

Image

and when entering an Invalid password three times, this will come out, but when I restart the netbook(turning it off and on) it will again ask for the HDD password.

Image

I really need help guys ;( I hope you can help me solve this problem I really need you recommendation on how to solve this ;(

If I understand correctly, you used a bios password and you dont remember which was it?

Then either try to remember :( or use a new hdd or ask a professional to unlock this drive for you. Be prepared to provide proof that you own this laptop if you go to a pro.

If you can get access to where the RAM is, does it say RTC Reset.
If it does you can try to briefly short out the RTC Reset pins with the tip of a screwdriver. Then enter the bios with [F2] and save bios defaults.

Not sure if you will then be able to remove the HDD password

A quick search on google found this:

1) Download "MHDD v4.5" http://hddguru.com/download/software/mh ... 4.5iso.zip
2) Burn boot cd from the ISO image
3) Boot to the MHDD CD
4) You will see a list of harddisk, select a harddisk you want to unlock
5) Type "unlock" and reply "1" for master password
6) Enter the master password. “tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt” (t 32 times)
(If it is wrong, ERR will turns red on the top of the screen, and You have 4 more tries before it powercycle the disk)
7) If it is correct, type "DISPWD" and reply "1"
(There will be a warning if your disk is still locked)
8) Retype the master password again and your disk is unlocked!
(ERR will turn red if the password wrong)
9) Type exit and press "ctrl + alt+ del" to reboot

Worth a try at least

Check these sites:

Repair Station says it supports all samsungs hdds and is safe to users data but will cost you $49.95
http://hdd-tools.com/products/rrs/

HddUnlock will cost $24.95 but will wipe all data in the process
http://www.hddunlock.com/

3rd option is to take it to a DR Pro who has proper tools & skills to remove the password

Am trying hard to improve my googling search techniques with proper keywords
for some reason i can tell i can find things on the 1st. 1-2 pages results instead of hundreds..

We all read n keep learning

btw, tech27 consider also replacing your hdd if you see it looks like a dead end, or you may try those links to unlock your drive (with data wipe)

good luck

I'm kinda bit hesitant on buying a new internal HDD because it say's: 'adding a new (unlocked) hard disk to a locked machine may cause the new hard disk to become locked'

here's my source: http://www.pwcrack.com/harddisk.shtml

i never seen such a thing on laptops (on my entire life) but i can assure you, I DO HAVE A PC which DOES SUCH A THING

now back again to ur case: if am following you here with this link you provided
No matter you do to unlock ur hdd will be locked again (based on this link)

i can tell this will not happen my dear 99% if you either buy/unlock n use the same hdd

good luck
