Hello community,
I have a ST3500620AS Firmware HP24 7200.11
it spins up and sounds at power on are normal
but not detected in bios, it happened all of a sudden
If connected as second drive the system takes much much longer to boot, and of course, the drive is not recognized neither once the OS boots up.

I have searched a lot on this forum about this drive, and found out that its most probably affected by the problem analyzed in the following page:

Unfortunately I have no means and i'm kinda scared to try that procedure (even if it seems quite easy for someone keen in electronic repair) so I am here to ask if anyone is willing to help me to bring it to life again?

The HP24 ones can be a bit more tricky than the usual SD15, DE12, MX15 etc...

If you are prepared to send to UK, the yes I can almost certainly help at a reasonable price

I don't think that sending the drive to UK would be a big problem... I just need to check the shipping quotes for sending the package to you (I am in Italy). A problem could be that we are now at christmas time, and a shipment now would take most probably more time than usual mmmm, it's something surely to note.

Sorry to tell guys, but HP24 FW, are restricted access ( no terminal access = terminal locked )

Is restricted via normal methods, but there are alternative methods to gain access.

hi all ,i have the same disk as you have metioned,ST3500620AS, fireware HP24. i updated the fireare to SD1A,then seccess fix the problem ,and save the data by superterminal as usual...u can try.
