Hello Guru's,

I have a WDC WD20EARS-00MVWB0 drive that I broke the plastic peice off that backs the SATA connector and holds the cable in place. I managed to super glue the peice back in place and I am able to access the drive, but it it flaky at best. Sometimes the drive shows up and other times, I have to "adjust" the cable to make good contact.

I bought a donor PCB from eBay. With the donor PCB on the drive, it spins up, but is not recognized by the bios. I believe that I need to pull the firmware and mappings off the patient PCB and move it to the donor PCB.

I've looked and looked for the software that can do this, but can't seem to find it. I am a computer professional and am familiar with upgrading firmware for just about all types of devices, but this is a little unfamiliar to me.

Can someone provide me a link to the proper software to use and a little instruction on how to proceed?

I Thank you all in advance for your help.
Mark

Tell your story to some local pros with the correct equipment , I doubt it would cost the earth.

Common drive
