WD Passport 500GB USB 3.0 Died

P\N WDBACY5000ABK-01
i opened the case and on hard drive itself it stated WD5000BMVW-11AMCS2

disk stopped during watching video from it.

if i connect it to usb 3.0 nothing happens
if i connect it to usb 2.0 it seen in device manager - but no drive in "my computer" - and i cannot access any data

any recovery software just stuck if drive connected.

did a research on google, did not found anything usefull

on one forum it was stated that somehow it is possible to connect this drive to sata - is it true? if yes how and will it help me?

can new pcb help in my case?

yes, it's possible to make it converted into SATA, but u require skills to do it properly. otherwise u will mess it up.

Recovery soft get stacked due to errors the drive itself, proper diagnosis will be required why it's happening.

pcb should not be issue in your case as it's detecting, hope it's spinning fine. do u hear any unusual sound?

pleas epay attention that it does not detcted when connected to usb 3.0

so any chance pcb swap woudl work?
