More likely electronics will just stop working, as there is no spike protection anymore. Better find TVS replacement. If drive won't fail in the first 2-6 month, you can return it to the normal use.sergioportolapa wrote:i read somewhere it can melt or catch fire because of the pieces i removed protect it against overvoltage.
