What tool are you using to wipe the drives with?

What tool will you use to clone if deciding to do so?

Hi Josue,

It's not the end result but the PROCESS to get the end result which satisfies the DOD requirement. So it is not valid just to clone the RESULT of the wipe to another drive.

True, if the OP and his "customers" care about DoD requirements, which he did not mention of.

The end result whether it is wiping or cloning zeros or whatever characters will be pretty much the same = can't "recover" data.

Whether you write random characters, zeroes or clone another drive that already been wiped, it is likely going to take a couple hours to completely wipe/overwrite a 500GB drive.

The Atola Bandura will zero fill an average 500GB drive in about an hour and twenty mins @ 104MB/s ..... You can even do 2 at a time with no real performance loss... and you can even create your own custom fill pattern should you wish..

Not a bad piece of kit... I use it every day primarily to sanitise my target drives..
