Hi
I have got a few western digital 2.5" IDE Hard drives Model Number : WD1200BEVE - 00WZT0

The hard disks have been over voltage be putting 12volts on the 5 volt line.

When I power up the hard drive - the motor does not spin?
I removed the PCB board and power it up - PCB looks ok have got 5 volts and 3.3 volts with no shorts noted.

Does anyone know where i can get a copy of the schematic for the western digital PCB as this will help me find the cause of the problem?

Also what voltages are used to drive the motor??

If anyone can help I would be very grateful

I would upload a image of the hard drive but I don't know how to do it - any help please
