LACIE - Wrong PSU used... Is my HDD now dead?

I've accidentally used the wrong PSU on my LACIE HDD and it now doesn't respond. What is the likelihood that I can recover the data? Does anyone have any thoughts on this or can suggest a company who might be able to help me? I am based in Buckinghamshire.

The most likely culprit is the 12V TVS diode on the HDD itself. If that is the only damage, then there is an easy no-cost DIY fix.

DIY has its Risks involved.
IF you are not sure you can do it , better take pro help,
if it is not badly damaged, the recovery shoudnt cost much.

if you want to DIY, you will need some soldering tools and skills and Multimeter and some free time.
You can post pictures of your drive and casing so that we get to know how bad it is.

If data is very important, DIY can make matters worse,
