Apacer AC203 USB disk - windows don't see any data on him

December 1st, 2012, 6:04

Hi

I have external USB Apacer drive size 500 GB, and when I connect him with USB cable (cable with two USB ports) to computer, Windows Explorer shows only the name "Local disk" (before this it was labeled Apacer) and when I open him, there is no data on him, empty. When I go on properties, it shows Free Space 126GB and 596GB of Total size. Acronis Disk Director does not see disk at all. Suddenly it happened. I Changed cable and put him on other computers and it is the same, windows explorer don't see data but see the disk. Like it is empty. I don't want to lose data from him, is there any chance that I resolve this, and if I not, at least I will use some of the tools for recovery of lost data. Before that tool, however, I would like to tried something else to solve this!?

Thanks

Ok i will. I already opened the case, removed the disc (it is a Toshiba MK6459GSX disk) and connect it to another USB Hard disk electronics (WD 120 GB) that I have. And with this electronics windows explorer don't see the data, just empty "Local disk" with filled space.

Do not try USB interface .
Connect it directly to SATA connector of your PC if you can.
Or put it back into its original casing and run Recovery(DMDE) as suggested by Northwind
