My large HDD (GPT, NTFS, data only) became unrecognizable, Win asks to format it. Disk is perfectly fine, no bad sectors, S.M.A.R.T. looks OK. I have used Hex editor to verify that some data is still there and it is the case. HDD is very fragmented so manual recovery (based on file signature search) is not really possible.
I have used TestDisk to fix Boot Sector (I have copied it from recovery), but $MFT & $MFTMirr are damaged, I have extracted them (about 18 MB each) and there is no valid structure there, I guess it was overwritten.
Programs like R-Studio, GetDataBack for NTFS, Zero Assumption Recovery, Active File Recovery, Ontrack Easy Recovery Pro and others can recover just a lot of junk (millions of wrongly identified files).
I have found that it should be possible to use $LogFile to restore/rebuild $MFT, but I have not found any tools capable of doing that. Have anyone ever succeeded rebuilding $MFT using $LogFile? I don’t really care about file names etc. as long as I can get data back, but it seems that if HDD is seriously fragmented it is not possible without $MFT. Can you give me any advices how to recover data?

P.S. I am not using original HDD, I have cloned it and use clone only.
