so was watching some movies of the hard drive on the apple tv
and we had a power cut for about 5 seconds

the machine reboots and the apples gone back to restore mode

so all my mkv movie files are gone 350gb worth


now the question i got is it possible to recovery all my movies intact

i tried r-studio no luck

now im running raise data recovery tool for hfs

i believe that i lost the movies for good

when the hfs file system goes down you loose all the structure in the names

anyone know of a program that works.

Hi,

Firstly do a sector by sector image of the drive that way if your recovery goes wrong you've got a backup.

If i remember correctly mac drive pro has a repair option? Might be worth looking at after you have made that backup image of the drive of cause.

hello i did a sector scan with r-studio and that did not work
would had thought it find the movies with all the names etc


also mac drive pro that will only repair the partition of the drive

i recover some movies that dont have any names on them

but the tv shows are just like half of the show that it

its a pain as windows would have kept the correct tree names
where the hfs does not

total sucks

Do you get the entire file but it is 'broken' when playing ? I would try - on a clone - either a raw recovery by signature or manually fix the fs in spare time as it is a boring and time consuming thing (you know... )

yes got some movies recovered but not the whole lot

but most are broken up and only last 4mins


going to try some more tools and see if that helps me

no recovery of the movie collection
as soon as the apple tv reset back into factory mode

everything gone and all the tv shows and movies are split in half.

so learn the hard way now

if you got a good collection of movies dont keep them on apple tv
as you wont be able to recovery them

if it was windows then i have the whole collection back

that the first thing that came to my mind ufs explorer tried it plus other program that say it would recovery them

but it never recovery the full collection all the files where broken in pieces.
correct amount like 600mb for the file but the video played for 2mins or less
