1) It is no good to use cracked pc3000 (china) tool . It is illegal.
2) If you are not sure what to do with N40P drive , don't do anything. It is easy to kill this drive finally.
3) This is 40Gb 3,5" ancient drive with 10 years old age. It is no point to fix it. Forget about, buy newer drive , and start new life.

On maxtor drive it is not like WD to regen translator. Yes it is possible to regen translator but not so easy. I agree with Dr Kiev that if you do not understand this drive and how maxtor work then you will sure kill it. There are certain mods in this drive that can not be over written no matter what. If you do over write them with donor mods then you loose all data on this drive.

If you want to refurbish this drive then this is another story and you are not going about this one in the right way. Sorry but I do not use a cracked version of PC3000 so can not tell you how it works. I use the UDMA PC3K from ACE and this one is an excellent tool. I also find out that the Maxtor HD Doctor from Salvation Data is an excellent tool when working with Maxtor drive. I like this tool a lot for Maxtors and find it very easy to repair the problems that come in on Maxtor drive. You might want to invest in a legal tool if you are planning on refurbishing maxtor drive. This one will be a lot better than using the tool you are trying to now.

Often N40P alias appears because of some reading problem in SA, could be some modules bad or even physical failure. To leave disk as Master will continue to try to load bad / unread SA. You need initiate Safe Mode, use Loader for SA access if possible, diagnose faulty modules, relocate errors and repair damaged modules, but you should be considerate of defect lists and adaptives etc.

In some cases N40P cannot repair, HotSwap or other intervention is needed. Maybe its possible to achieve recovery with cracked pc3000, but it is unreliable, outdated and I would not be sure of its functionality. Also, the most important tool is knowledge and experience which you do not have.

You only really have 2 options, trash the drive or outsource it to someone with the right tools who can get it done for you, assuming you havent already damaged critical SA components with anything you have already attempted...

Not all modules are dependant on translator. Also, translator regen is based on module HUTIL (#33) , but here OP gives no mention as to what modules were replaced. Maybe he replace #78 and #33 is bad, so zone table not native and translator cant be run. We do not know if ID show correct as 6E040L0 or incorrect as 6E040L1, which modules were replaced, if HUTIL is intact, if there are bad sectors within SA (very common). There are too many variables.

It is near impossible to offer advice on this without knowing more details about it. The Op clearly has no experience or knowledge in this area and at present the data is at risk while modules are being written and changed etc.
