Seaagte F3 staing Busy

December 17th, 2016, 6:36

Hi all
I am badly stuck up with his Seagate Hard disk.
It gives detection but becomes busy while entering in utility. Since DT and modules are not read ,I cant take firmware backup .
It has typical issues like BGMS DOS rewrite / BGMS marked as BBM

I can open system files as well. I am fearful to clear NRG list and run any m0 command as both things are not technically correct to run.
I am unable to do anything further. Can someone pls. help how to reach to system files and further process.

Hi
Check head resistance . So it will be clear whether this is head /Firmware issue. Although Heads can be properly checked in DE only.
Do not erase smart or run any m0 command unless you have full backup of firmware or you will not be able to go back.
I think clearing SMP flags in system files may solve this issue. But you cant read system files unless pc3000 is initialized and all modules are read.

It is most likely just an auto-reallocation or media cache bug. Given that you're able to get terminal it should be very easy to fix.

Also, you may want to try running the V40 command at level T> not level 2>.

Being a lone ranger I am not been able to focus on only technical part , Besides I don't want to take any chances with customer data.
Instead of me spending time on single disk If I subordinate work I can do no. of other works and earn more.
