WD10EARX-00N0YB0 diferent head surfaces?

August 13th, 2013, 4:41

Good Morning people.

I saw that this model WD10EARX-00N0YB0 has 3 heads but i open many of this ones in camara and notice the head 3 on the up platter is diferent. For example the WD10EARX-00N0YB0 have the 3 head in the surface above from the up platter, on another drive with the same model has the head 3 in the surface upper in the same platter. Does any one knows how to see from any kind of information on the label when you can recognize to have the head 3 in the same surface?
Its kind of strange this model have diferent surfacer for the head 3 because its not recertified..
any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance :)

The Head 3 its the only one i cant read it from image. I have the all imagem from the heads 0 and 1. And because its encripted i need to read the sector who have the key and the rest of unread sectors to unlock the data from the image drive. :(

you have to find a matching donor then.
as far as i'm concerned the only way to be certain your donor will match is if you know the headmap in advance.
some donor sellers offer this kind of info, as per request.

Just as a reference, you can use heads from a WD Sadle G6 for example.
