No, it will not work. Don't waste your money and time.
Just buy a new drive. They are so cheap....

No, the problem is that the original MODs (0D and 02) need to be restored. MOD 02 exists within a reserved System Area (SA) on the platters, not on the PCB.

Without backup copy of FW modules, a loader and suitable software?...
Do you think he can fix it?

@BGman, I was addressing the OP, but to answer your question, no, I don't think the OP can fix it. But I'd be interested in having a go. As for backups, I believe some drives have a backup copy of MOD 02 in the SA (in a different MOD).
