pcb no enough???

January 9th, 2014, 21:17

hi guys,

i have a question. i have a 7200.10 drive. i understand this doesnt need a rom transfer as long as i get a match. but even with wrong firmware but correct pcb no should this drive spin up. the answer will conclude as to whether this drive has some internal damage.

as long as pcb no is same, is the actual model number of hdd critical. i assume in some instances one pcb no/board could be used on several models in the family. eg: 320gb,500gb etc.

With the same PCB P/N it should still spin up regardless of ROM version.

And yes, same PCB could be valid on differing capacities.
