Use HDD LLF from a Bootdisk

April 13th, 2016, 1:25

Hi

If your notebook just have one hard drive you can't run HDD LLF from this HD to format this disk = is there any known way to use HDD LLF from a Boot disk / Boot stick to format the single hard drive of this notebook?

read the wikipedias on what LLF actually is, and why it really isn't anymore. Any util that will write 00's to every sector will do, even a full format, or secure erase. I don't think anyone worries about any bad sectors left over that may contain data.. realistically

things like hirens disk should have it, maybe Kali, but I bet there is a tonne of others. even a windows bootdisk should do it. with a format with the full option

@HaQue

Thanks for your replay but I ordered HDD LLF and now I want to use it, give the tool a chance. I think that i found a way to implement it. The tool is called WinToUSB (also called Windows To USB) http://easyuefi.com/wintousb/index.html . You can boot from a stick like this and you should be able to run the standalone version from HDD LLF under this "Stick Windows".

yes looks like a viable solution, would be good to know your experiences with win2go and the tool, good luck :)
