1. What is the drive you are trying to recover from?
2. What was the problem with the drive when it arrived?
3. What did you do to work around those issues?
4. What data recovery resources do you have available to work with?
5. Is this your drive or a client's?
6. How valuable is the data on the drive?
7. Have you considered getting it assessed by a professional lab before any further damage is caused by your efforts?

1. WD30EZRX - 3tb western digital green
2. Had the original one fail on me and got it RMAd, this one ive had for a few months and its worked fine ive ran scans on it pretty regularly to make sure it was fine and my data was safe. I turned my computer off last night with everything working fine. Turned it on today took forever to boot into windows and i heard a clicking sound. I checked my computer and the storage drive is gone. It shows up under bios, disk management(says unknown and wont initialize says I/O error)
3. Tried new cables and tried in a different computer.
4. Home user so not many.
5. Mine
6. Pretty valuable its a collecting of videos/music n such that ive been gathering for years over 2TB and more importantly it also contains family videos from holidays.
7. Yes i have considered this but its crazy expensive and i really can't afford it.

The head stack might have to be replaced under a hepa 100 asseptic room and the data extracted with expensive hardware tools.
Do not power on the drive any longer if it's indeed just clicking, and store it on a safe place until you can afoard pro assistence, and i mean a proper data recovery firm, not a computer repair shop.

Odd. Those questions are my questions from another thread, yet this is your first post. Oh well, good to see that they didn't go to waste as they were not answered in the other thread.
