I have 4x 2Tb WD20EARS, one of which is producing a clicking pattern, 4 clicks, pause, 1 click, 4 clicks, pause, 1 click, spin down
I have tried the other three PCBs on that drive and all work.
I have tried the suspect PCB on the other 3 drives, same clicking pattern.
So I am guessing, the PCB is in need of.. something
Is there a way of identifying the pattern as a diagnostic acoustic? Google results have come up with this forum but nothing specific.
Any applications for MAC OS I can use which will recognise the drive through a USB caddy connection and perform diagnostics?
If this is a quick and simple swap PCB at low cost, could anyone recommend a good supplier for international postage?
Many thank for any assistance.

You already have your answer I think.
Are you saying that the 3 other PCB's you tried that "all work" gave access to DATA properly as well? without any type of ROM transfer.
If so, by another PCB and jobs done.

Thanks, that is pretty much what I suspected.
Any good resellers for WD PCBs in the UAE?
