Hello,

I am new to this forum but i really need your help.
Recently i was shrinking my WD 1tb HDD with AOMEI Partition assistant and in the middle of shrinking we had a blackout. When i started back my pc win8 i see the harddrive as Local Disk E. When i click on it it say corrupted and inaccesible.
By the way i have two HDD in my system. Win7 is on the WD 1tb and that is corrupted.

This is not a hardware issue. And should be able to be fixed by some software right?
I really need to get that harddrive back up and running.

I tried Partition Find and Mount but it found the wrong partions, a couple of 8gb partition and 300mb partitions.

Please advice....

Thanks.

I think the best you can hope for is to take a full disk image using DMDE for example and do a raw scan to recover files with software such as R-0Studio, GetDataBack or DMDE itself(pay the $20 it is worth it) not relying on file tables. you will certainly need to re-install windows for any hope of a properly functioning system, so you wont need to recover every file, just your personal ones.

You take an image and work on the image so you don't destroy the only copy of DATA (albeit damaged) you have.
