Hello , I just registered on this site after reading various threads on the forum . I found this site very interesting and full of experienced people who know how to give useful advice. I state that I am not an expert file recovery and disk recovery but at least they are able to access with hyperterminal in seagate drives . I'm Italian and I'm writing in English thanks to google translator . I apologize for that.
My problem is the following:
Until yesterday the computer was turned on and sometimes I appeared a warning message from windows that the disk was about to break. Through a tools I saw that there were only two bad sectors , nothing of that . All of a sudden yesterday the computer is restarted and from then on the disk is no longer visible even from the BIOS. The engine turns over , the heads do not make the classic noise.
Now apparently the same problem that seems to have the seagate model STM3500320AS that at some point they stop working but giving a series of commands to the serial port you are unable to restart it and then be able to update the firmware correctly .
Is there anyone who can help me to see if I can do the same thing with this or would like to understand if there is someone who can follow step by step in analyzing the various messages of the serial port . I also downloaded the manual: SEAGATE DIAGNOSTIC COMMAND, but I honestly do not know where to begin my analysis of the disc.
I thank in advance all those who are willing to help me.
