WD10TMVW-11ZSMS5 IMAGING FAILES

April 16th, 2014, 13:23

THE HDD GETS CLONED UPTO 42XXXXXXX SECTORS, THEN IT STARTS TO SKIP SEQUENCIALLY A LOT OF SECTORS AROUND IN EVERY 300000+- SECTORS ALL OVER THE SURFACE TILL END.

I have tested all modules.

Error found on mod 0004 & 006F. usually these 2 modules are found corrupt on all ROYL HDD, never faced any problem. Do you think 0004 is issue? if so, direct replacement from donor gonna work?

I did SMART & G-list clear, nothing improved. same condition.
Did translator regeneration, same condition.

ANy thought please?

Try cloning by head (if you have the tools to do it) and see if the unreadable pertain to individual heads.

Tried to do by using HEAD. nothing

Tool used DFL-DDP.

42XXXXXXX - 195XXXXXXX (end) sectors having the issue, seems like some FW issue, Translator? Someone stated it should be ZONE, but no idea how to deal if so.
