I have a Seagate ST3500320AS with the SD1A firmware. It stop working after longs years of good work.

With the serial cable I can see these messages in loop :

Rst 0x20M
LED:000000CC FAddr:000107B3
Rst 0x20M
LED:000000CC FAddr:000107B3
Rst 0x20M
LED:000000CC FAddr:000107B3
Rst 0x20M
LED:000000CC FAddr:000107B3

The motor seems to running (good vibration). I can hear spin-up try synchronize to each messages.

I can access to the diag prompt (head disconnected) but I have errors on /2 Z command and on /2 U command.

Do you think it's a PCB problem ? A swap ROM with another same PCB would help me ?

on the 'Z' command, the drive should spin down. Yours is not. It looks like the steps are not executed correctly.

Thank you for your advise, but datas aren't so critical and I'd like to repair it by myself, to improve my skills and it's a challenge !

Do you know what are meaning errors code : (LED:000000CC, Rst 0x20M, ...) ?

According to the terminal log you've posted, the problem is either dead heads or non-original PCB.

The easiest way to check the latter for this drive is to unscrew the PCB and power it on.
