If the phone is in working order and no passcode or known passcode the Cellebrite UFED (and probably other mobile forensics tools) can do it. UFED supports logical and physical file system extraction for this model. Logical will often have deleted SMS in the database. Physical you may be able to carve them out or rebuild.

is it part of legal situation?

Find a DR provider nearby with a UFED Cellebrite machine and ask them to do a logical dump ( or physical dump) if the NAND.

where are you located?

We have UFED and can help recovering data from cell phones like this one, but it's important to remember that older models usually store limited number of text messages.
If I recall correctly, this Nokia capable to keep 20 SMS only, so amount of recoverable data is limited.

letting customers specify the terms of your work will only lead to bad things.
YOU decide what work you take on, and if you really dont have time, you provide the customer with numbers/links of people that do and say thank you, goodbye, and good luck.
