Hello!
New to this forum. This my first post and I have a problem with a Fujitsu SATA 160 gb drive. The drive don't spin at all. Fuse ok. When board connected to pwr it heats the marvel MCU chip very hot with a wheezing sound from the chip.
Any common issue? help with finding culprit is much appreciated.
Best regards

Hi montarbo;
I think that the sound "wheezing" that you heart is that MCU ic is burned. you need a new PCB and ROM trasfer.
But caution, maybe other problems on HDD that will make burn MCU again.

Thanks for reply!
I actually took off the MCU chip from another PCB and soldered it to the PCB after re-balling. Well I can say that the problem is at the MCU. Getting now the disk to spin but guess what, clicking, LOL. Not worth the effort but to improve re-balling skills.
