HDD is recognized but not the partition - format required

August 28th, 2014, 4:54

Hello,

I've been filling a My Book Essential 1TB drive with a lot of stuff the past years.
Last year it wasn't active at all, and yesterday, when I tried to plug it the partition was not recognized although the drive was.
I was asked by OSX to format the partition in order to make it useable again.

I haven't done it yet, I wanted to ask you if there's any chance of retrieving the data stored in that drive over the past years?

Thanks
