Hello

I have a seagate barracuda that has head problems. I know that the terms of matching must be model, part number, firmware and site code.

I have another segate barracuda 2tb but the only thing that is not the same is the firmware.

My question is it's possible to change the firmware to make it equal to the disk's firmware with had problems?

Hi Tiago, FW change is not needed. if you change FW the heads stack is the same not change, (head stack is Hardware, no FW).

anyway probable your donnor will be valid.

but remember if data is important better to get correct donnor drive.
