Created by the innovators at MRT Laboratory, MRT Pro is a combination of software and hardware solutions that specializes in both hard disk drive (HDD) repair and data recovery. Comprised of two parts, the hardware aspect has a special MRT SATA controller card, which allows two HDDs to be repaired simultaneously. Through the advanced hardware technology, the repair of HDDs (such as bad sector repair), recovery of firmware can be conducted at factory mode where firmware and microcode is accessible.
Currently, MRT software supports the following HDD families of products:
Western Digital
Seagate
Hitachi (including the original series and the newer ARM series)
Toshiba
Fujitsu
Samsung
Maxtor
The software function with the latest Data Explorer tools includes, but is not limited to, disk imaging, imaging with head map, and the ability to explore documents.

Technical Features:
·Support of all IDE (CE, CF, ZIF), SATA (MICRO SATA) interface HDDs
·Support 1.8 inch, 2.5 inch, and 3.5 HDDs with a capacity of up to 4TB
·Provide two SATA ports and one IDE port
·Support the recovery of corrupted firmware in HDDs
·Support the ability to unlock hard drive password (i.e. decrypt the hard drive)
·Support data recovery and HDDs repair due to failed read/write heads
·Support virtual head map technology
·Support the repair of HDDs with physically-damaged sectors
·Support disk imaging, image with head map, with speeds of up to 120M/sec (theoretical speed up to 150M /sec).

MRT might be useul for DR pro peoples who have already mastered pc3000. But for noivice it will be difficult to learn since it has more low level features which are potent & destructie.
Does mrt gives extensive post sale technical support ? a teamviewer type remote support is must. What is price of mrt complex?

It seems like the MRT isn't very creative...even making their terminal adapters look almost identical to the PC3K adapters. I'd be curious to hear how this tool compares in the real world by a few unbiased data recovery pros.

I don't think Ace Laboratory has anything to worry about for a while. The MRT website is such a mess, I'm not sure anyone could ever figure out what exactly they are trying to sell and how to buy it.

MRT doesn't have manual and even support forum.
They told me that they are considering to create support forum in the future...

From what I can see, they really don't even have a website (at least not in English).

As I said, they don't have a website...that is a mess. I want a page where I can click on a page and see details about MRT. A list of functions, photo of what comes in the box, something more than a photo of their knock off copy of PC3K terminal adapters.

They have updated the website. Not fully working tough....

I am a member of another DR forum and MRT have just been banned from posting due to excessive spam and sales pitches.

I think purchasers might have a bit of trouble getting the "Breakthrough Technology" into their machines. ;-)

Look at the picture in a mirror.

Yep, a dodgy pic, looks like they flipped the image.

It will work, and I was thinking PCIe looks like a pretty simple interface to use, I was wondering what else I could use it for. Like a serial port on steroids

Why bologna when you can have LASAGNA ?

This should give an answer to the original question.

P.S. bread with bologna is street food for truckers and construction workers. Healthier than a Mac and tastier especially with some tomato and a beer added... :P
