ix4-200d RAID recovery help

Last week a drive died on our ix4. I replaced the drive, it started to do its rebuilding, I left it go overnight. The next day I have emails from it, first saying it was finished, then saying a drive had an error (not the one that I replaced) that was fixed and then a third saying ALL drives had been replaced. I rebooted it and it just wants to confirm overwriting the what it thinks are new drives. Didn't do that of course. I've been trying to many days to get at the data using a tool called iRecover. I finally got it to give me a folder/file tree to look at but it is a mess so doesn't seem like a good option. Looks like i'd basically have to re create every folder and copy files back individually to get it back to normal.

I have seen some posts here where DR-Kiev has remoted in to other's IX4s and fixed them. I'm hoping this is an option and he can contact me. Or if anything else has any suggestions, please let me know.

Did you individually check that other drives are indeed OK?
It may happen that you will need to create an image of each drive to proceed, but issues with some particular drive(-s) will prevent you from doing so. And that may affect at least the quality of results or RAID recovery overall.

Or if anything else has any suggestions, please let me know.

For now this job looks pretty doable, but if necessary, please feel free to contact me as well, we can also help recovering this StorCenter remotely.

Current Pending Sector Count = number of sectors, for which drive hasn't decided yet whether they're unreadable or not. Later upon the results of reading attempts, drive can either remove them from "pending" list or do a remap. Basically, those sectors are the "candidates" to be remapped.

Uncorrectable Sector Count = Number of read/write errors drive has been unable to correct. Obviously bad when it's growing.

Generally, having 1/1 for these attributes isn't totally terrible, but this is the drive to keep an eye on.
If during your own recovery attempts you've read all the raw data stored on that drive at least once and attributes above haven't changed, then it is likely to survive the data extraction from it during recovery.

But if you don't feel imaging that drive would be too much hassle, then you can surely do so, that wouldn't hurt.

I have the same issue my IX4-200d states "4 new drives with existing data" after a failed update to ix4-200d-ix4-200d-2.1.44.30050....I refuse to check the box "Authorize overwrite" of all my data..is there a way to re-establish the raid config?

If nothing more destructive than firmware update has been done, then this NAS appears pretty recoverable.
If necessary, I'll be glad to help with it remotely.
