Hello to everyone.
I have a strange problem with my system.
A few days ago the hdd (samsung spinpoint f3 sata 2 1tb) did not start.
The system starts ,enters Bios but it doesn`t detect the hdd drive.
I tried the following:
1.Another Sata power cable (the psu is corsair tx650),another sata port, another sata data cable, reset bios, change from ide to ahci and reverse but nothing worked.
2.Tested the hdd on a second system and it works perfectly.
3.tested on the second system my PSU and hdd the result : everything works.
4.changed the psu of my system...but the hdd angain doesn`t spin up.
I have to mention that i had problems before with the system, meaning that i had sometimes no video signal at start, sometimes short continous beeps at the motherboard speaker (gigabyte h55-ud3h), meaning in the manual ``power error``.
So can i conclude that the sata controller of the motherboard may be dead?
Thank you

it is a SATA 2 motherboard with a SATA 2 hard drive.
They worked together fine for almost 4 years.
