Hello I have a WD BLACK SERIES WD1003FZEX a few days ago I moved and today when i finally set my desktop up I noticed my drive not starting up. It has been used as an external drive and has worked perfectly fine up until this point. It is making two very small sounding clicks very fast then one larger click sound. When it makes the larger click sound I feel a force as if something is trying to move. It repeats this process randomly from 3-10 times and I hear a louder sound that lasts for a second as if the spindle is trying to spin and I feel the harddrive move a little. It then goes back and repeats the process over again

Does this sound like there is any potential for data recovery? or possibly repair?

Thankyou for taking the time to answer my question

It certainly sounds like internal issues that likely are not recoverable using DIY methods. Your best bet is to contact a trustworthy data recovery pro (not the local computer repair shop) and have them physically assess your hard drive. They should be able to pinpoint the cause of the failure and give you a price to recover the data.
