Yes, the drive spins and i'm sure i connected everything right.
I don't have any problem when i use the adapter for 3.5" drives.
This Toshiba is the first 2.5" drive with PATA connector i have since i got pc3k, i don't know why it doesn't work properly!

I was thinking to soldering a sata connector to the PATA connector, so i can hook the drive to the SATA/PATA 3.5" pc3k adaptor but i don't know how.
Suggestions?

Good idea, tomorrow i will try it with WDR. :)
but at the moment i don't have another 2.5" PATA drive with this IDE connector
I have only one pc3k board and has included the DE in it, i use it on a Win 2000 O.S.

I tried in WDR, the drive is not seen if i hook to the PC-2″ adaptor.
WDR detects PC3000 board and his ports but not the drive.
WDR detects the drive via usb port (using the ide to usb adaptor).

Also, if i hook the PC-2″ adaptor directly to the IDE motherboard with 40 pin ATA cable, the drive is still not seen, then we have to conclude that there is some problem with the adapter or with some configuration :?
I checked with my multimiter the adaptor, all connections are fine, it's a very simple adaptor because it has only 2 leds, 1 fuse and 2 SMD 390 Ohm resistors for leds current limitations, it's very simple!

I don't understand... :?

I checked all pins with multimeter (both 2.5" and 3.5" sides), are all good.
I redid all the welds anyway, same all thing...
I connect it right because if i connect the 2.5" upside down the drive doesn't even turn on.
The 3.5" ATA cable connector it's impossible to connect upside down because it has a piece of plastic in the middle to prevent inverting.

If i connect the 2.5" connector in the right way, drive spins and the red led on the PC-2″ adaptor turns on (SEL +5V).
The green led stays off (HDD), it turns on only for a second when i boot the computer. :?

1. Make sure the jumpers on the ACE 2.5" adaptor are set for Toshiba.

2. In options in PC3k set "cable select" option as true for that port (ATA0 or ATA1)

I can't find the "cable select" option.
I have the PCI, not UDMA

Jumpers on the adaptor are already set to Toshiba configuration

If I remember correctly, the CS selection on PCI was a jumper on the PCI board next to the IDE connector for the desired port.

Yes on the PCI board there is a jumper on ATA-0 for cable select, it's called J1.
I jumped it but nothing has changed, drive isn't still detect.

Problem solved
I solved the problem in another way...
I took the IDE to USB adaptor which you can see in the first pic i posted in the first post, which has the mini IDE connector.
I connected the drive to the mini IDE of the USB adaptor and the other side of the adaptor (IDE) to the ATA-0 port of pc3k.
Then i powered it via the usb cable, i builded an ATA to USB cable to power control the adaptor via pc3k ATA-0.

Works fine.
