Hot Swap [ Woes ] - Samsung SV4002H Victor 40 GB IDE

January 8th, 2015, 14:08

Folks ,
I Have This Case With Me .The Patient is a 40GB IDE " PATA " Samsung SV4002H .Firmware is QP200-05 In This .Upon SA Test i Can See The The Following Modules Have Errors According To PC3K PCI Not Tried It In My MRT " IHMO MRT Pro Does Not Have a Structure Test In Samsung Factory Utility " . The Following Modules Have Errors .

1 : RCO_Log [ On Head 0 ] - > Head 1 Is OK
2 : Alist [ On Head 0 ] - > Head 1 Is OK
3 : Vlist [ On Head 0 ] - > Head 1 Is OK
4 : Elog [ On Head 0 ] - > Head 1 Is OK
5 : D_CSM [ On Head 0 ] - > Head 1 Is OK

The Smart Module In Head 0 is Also Now Showing Errors .There Were Some Tricks In My Head To Solve This .Starting From A To.. Let Me Let You What I Was Thinking .

Plan A : Plan was to write all these modules from Head 01 to Head 00 .Plan failed as i Think The SA that stores these modules in Head 00 is Having UNC " Bad Sector " .Even After i Write and check structure there is still errors .

Plan B : Take a Same Firmware SV4002H HDD And Copy Essential Modules " "UNITABLE" , "SLIST" , "TLIST" , "ALIST" From Patient To Donor and Then Restart Donor .Once Donor is Up And Running Put Donor To Sleep And Fit PCB On Patient And Start Drive And Get My Data Back .Problem is i Have Many donors But None with Firmware QP200-05 .Can i Make Another Firmware Drive Compatiable To My Firmware By Writing Rom + modules From Patient Head 01 to Both Heads 00 and 01 in any other firmware drive .

Plan C : Write All Modules From Patient To a Donor i Have With Another firmware .Then Use PCB of Patient on Donor .Start Donor Drive ,Put it To Sleep Once Its Up And Shift PCB of Patient From Donor To Patient .Will This Work i Tried Once But it did Not Work Somehow .

As Alist of This Drive is Not OK on head 00 .Will this mean a logical scan should give a error on any sector i try to read .Could it Be a Head 00 Gone Bad ? . If its bad how could it read other modules on head 00 structure testing .Backup Of The Rom And Readable Modules of Patient Is There with me in case any messup happens .Please Help Me with Some suggestions so that i can get the data out from this case . :(
