inverted polarity on stm3320820a smoke on pwm diode is there someone in italy that can change diodes?
the hdd is stm3320820a fw:3AAE P.N:9DP03G-326 TK DATA CODE 7276
I have 2 other hdd fw:3AAE P.N:9DP03G-326 TK DATA CODE 8397
3AAE P.N:9DP03G-326 TK DATA CODE 7383

can I change the pcb? Or, if not, is there in italy someone that in case can swap also the firmware chip?

Incredible that no one here is capable to change a pwm diode. And i have a spinal cord injury so my hands are not able to do.

Any help is very appreciate.

Thanks for reply.I'll post you photos asap.
The diode of 5v is short in diode mode measure. It was an external drive.
Really thanks.

I made some measurements.

In test diode 5v and ground are in conduction on + of diode.

test pins of diode and it's in conduction.

Can I try what you suggest?

You're very gentle, thanks.

It must be embedded within the MCU.

They help me solving my problem and , really, they share their knowledge with us.

I resolve removing diode.

I'm very happy because i can't walk so my pc is my life, my little manner to communicate with other people.

Try "labservice" in Padova.

Bene che tutto si sia risolto. :D

Nice advert.
I was under the impression the op had already solved the problem with the drive...

It wasn't meant to be an advert, I just didn't read the thread properly and was just trying to point the guy in the right direction

When on the first reply of this thread (2nd post) I've stated :

Spildit wrote:
3 - If you want to ship the PCB to Portugal I can remove the diode and put there another one for a small fee + shipping costs. This will protect the PCB from power surges from the PSU and other issues like the one described.

Interesting.

:D :D :D

Why are you being so defensive?

I only read the first post, it was early in the morning (06:45 uk time) and stupidly just replied to that.

I have no financial or other interest in recommending labservice, just that I do know him and he's in Italy.

I'm glad for the OP he's got his data back thanks to your and fzabkar's help at no cost.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother posting on here, just to be nit-picked :-(

@pcimage: I live 90 Km from Padova (about 55 miles).
Do you know if labservice guy is subscripted in this forum?

Spildit wrote:Sorry if i offended you.
It's just that i keep being picked all the time by data recovery professionals as well, even when I post safe DIY solutions the "commercial" professional (and more expensive) option apparently always came first.

Once again I'm very sorry, I shouldn't had replied to you the way I did, it's just that I'm a little unhappy with some other member of the forum and ended up a little bit aggressive and offensive.

Best regards and please accept my apologies.

No problem. All friends again :-)
