I have 4 ST500DM002 drives. One Drive working without problem and other 3 not detected by bios and no terminal Access.

When i read all four Adaptive roms there are some starting and ending offset difference (000404D0 to 00056180) ie. Starting offset is same in all four but ending is difference. In that Block there are 8bits data missing in all non working drives and i can't find them exactly.

Can anyone analyze them. pls

thanks in advance

ROM is not being.
Unless the board reversed.

With no native ROM these disks not work.

Verify
S/N Z3TAXRRN <- 500dm002_NotWork1.bin
Z2AC3C41 <- 500dm002_NotWork2.bin
Z3TSMTBZ <- 500dm002_NotWork3.bin
Z6E00W4L <- 500dm002_Working.bin

if ok.
problems with the heads or SA

Just FYI, there appear to be 5 sections in your ROMs.

Code:
Offset(h) 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F

00000000  B3 00 00 00 30 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 CE 3F 04 00
00000010  17 28 00 00 13 00 04 00 24 00 00 01 22 00 00 04
00000020  23 00 00 06 00 00 00 08

Code:
Offset(h) 00 01 02 03

00000010  17 28 00 00
00000014  13 00 04 00
00000018  24 00 00 01
0000001C  22 00 00 04
00000020  23 00 00 06
00000024  00 00 00 08

    0x00028 - 0x003FF
    0x00400 - 0x0FFFF
    0x10000 - 0x3FFFF
    0x40000 - 0x5FFFF
    0x60000 - 0x7FFFF

F3 architecture disks are always different the offset in ROM
Compiled locally for each disk.

When you say no terminal access is there any terminal output at all? If the ROM is corrupt on F3 drives you should get a terminal output like "checksum error" and no spin up. Do the drives spin up at all?
