I broke a pin of the eeprom at doing replacement of electronic board...

I tried to extract firmware from the firmware we found on seagate website but no luck, seem to be generated / incomplete, at some point...

I have a programmer and some blank compatible eeprom, I just need a DUMP.

If i replace with an other rom dump the problem is about data or about usage of hdd himself???

True, but I replaced many many times soic8 / soic16 and others, I have tools to do it, this time I was hurry, and that append... next times I will perform a backup with test clip before removing the chip... We learn by doing mistakes

I will try to retrieve a contact on chip with broken pin by removing some package material on chip... Like this:

I recovered few 7200.12 and 7200.14 drives which had broken rom pins by DIY customer job.
You need a SPI ROM programmer + SOP8 clip + new ROM chip (or get a donor pcb which has healthy rom chip) + tweezers with fine tips.

Take off bad chip from the pcb, grab it with SOP8 clip, then use tweezers tip to touch the broken ROM pin and touch SOP8 pin contact with same tip.
Read your rom via eprom programmer and keep your hands steady as you can, otherwise the reading will not be good (repeat reading 4/5 times), then compare the rom dump (that you have to save on files) with a hex editor (i use Hex Workshop).
If you get 2 identical dumps then it will mean that you have got very likely good dump, if you get all different dump content then it will mean that you have got bad dumps, so you have to repeat all again with very steady hands and better tweezers.

When you'll be sure that you got a good rom dump then you can write it on rom donor via eprom.

P.S.
7200.14 rom chip work at 1.8V, so you have to be sure that your eprom works at 1.8 voltage, if you use eprom that do work only at 3.6V or higher then very likely you will definitively damage rom chip.
