Incorrect Drive Size

May 17th, 2015, 9:51

I have a WD3200AAJS 320GB drive from a WD My Book external drive that I can no longer read. It does not make any noise. I took it out of the enclosure and connected it via USB and directly to a desktop. It comes up as a 14.93GB drive in Disk Management on Windows 7.

What can I try to recover the data on the drive.

Problem with missed overlay, at least. If you don't know how to load overlay into this drive you can do nothing.

Can you show us CrystalDiskInfo's report, including SMART and Identify Device?

First go to Edit -> Copy Option and select Identify Device. Then go to Edit -> Copy. This will copy the disk information to the clipboard. Then open up NotePad or whichever word processor ships with your version of Windows, and choose Edit -> Paste (or Ctrl-V) to input the clipboard data.
