SelfScan SA Problems in HDD WD20EARS-00MVWB0

May 18th, 2015, 7:17

Hello:

I have an HDD WD20EARS-00MVWB0.After recover the most importat data i did a test head write in WDR and show bad head 03. I tried head depop but the process finished in error. After that i write rom without problems but when i tried to write the rest of modules the write speed was very low that is why i decide run SelfScan SA and format SA, the idea is create a new SA defect list and use it to format SA, then write the rest of modules to the HDD. When i tried SelfScan SA in WDR (i think this test is minitest in WDR) the program do not ask for modules DF, after load overlay i did right in LOG panel select minitest and the test start and stop immediately with an error. It is my first selfscan SA. Could any one please tell me what i am doing wrong?. I can show details of the procedure that i am using if is necesary. The modules are write slowly but without errors, i cancel the operation because it take long time.

Thank you in Advanced.

The drive is SaddleBack 6 Family . Some of its F/W revisions require Servo Data to be uploaded before Pemanent Overlay - a task WDR can't fulfil.
