r-studio ? if you have a PC3K why not clone with it & then run r-studio ?

regardless whether you should play with a client's disk or not
if you don't have hardware tools to clone the drive your best option would be ddrescue IMHO

Also i can see that you have another "HARD RECOVER" there .... Why don't you stop playing with client's drives as stated ?

Your client's trust you and you are messing up their drives because you don't have a clue about what you are doing

one should not play with customer drive, may be they have a legal evidence they are trying to recover and you ruin the only chance of recovery. just a thought.

if you really care about your customer why not outsource it ?

At least MRT is legal, and it's gotta be 100x better than pirate PC3K
