Hi
This hdd behaves very strange.
When powered up it stays BUSY, the motor spins, heads are on the ramp all the time (don't moving) and HDD gives a BIP sound every few seconds. It sounds like the pcb is from another drive, but the owner swears its oryginal.
I checked if the heads are jammed in the ramp, but they are fine.
Do you have any idea what could be the problem ?

Head/preamp problem...change hsa.

If you have suspicions about the PCB, I would recommend confirming them FIRST!!... make sure ALL HSA / PCB contacts are clean and making good contact...

The HDD should still reach a ready state with a non-original PCB so probably there are other issues, but ruling out PCB first is very important as it is the least invasive (and safest) step you can take without causing potentially more serious problems.

Interesting conclusion

First, specify full model to recognize is pcb native/compatible or not. Further, it's need to check pcb (change for compatible). But usually this type of problems (by your description) are the mechanical problems (bearing problem, actuator problem, airlock etc.)
