Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi,
I have a SATA HDD and an SSD with OS installed on the SSD. I converted my HDD to GPT using third party tool called Minitool Partition Wizard so that I could install win10 TP UEFI on it. Partition wizard converted it to GPT fine but one of the two partitions was lost.
So then I rebooted hoping to install windows 10 but then my PC won't go past the ASUS Bios logo. Its stuck there and I cannot go into BIOS setup as well. However, if I disconnect the HDD, my PC boots into windows fine.
I've tried connecting it to different SATA ports on the motherboard but it doesn't work.
Please guide. Thank you.
Computer setup: ASUS M5A97-LE-2.0, AMD FX-6300 Black Edition, 8GB RAM Kingston SV300 120GB SSD ,WD
Cavair Blue 500GB HDD, Benq 23" Display, CoolerMaster 450W SMPS, CoolerMaster
Elite 310 Cabinet
P.S. I don't have a second PC to test the drive but it was fine just a few mins ago.

Does your drive still spin up?

Yes it does.

First, check bios update on your asus notebook.
2) disable secure boot in bios
3) try install clean OS on clean HDD (without MBR, GPT, and e.t.c.) from CD drive or USB Flash drive (you can try UEFI or Legacy mode)

1. Its a desktop and also it has the second latest BIOS on offer to download by ASUS.
3. I would've done all that but the HDD is not getting detected and no POST with the HDD! Also, disabling secure boot doesn't make a difference as far as I tried.
I think it has something to do with HDD MBR/GPT format on the HDD being destroyed. I'll try hot swapping the HDD and update you.

Hey I managed to get it working by hot plugging the disk. I then reformatted it in MBR and rebooted and it was detected.
