what should I do after Low Level Format ??

July 13th, 2015, 23:49

I download and install the low level format 4.40 software.

I plug my portable 1TB hard drive, and click the "FORMAT" button.
It took me 4 hours to get the low level formatting done. I hope the hard drive is completely clean, free of any information.

What's the next step in order to use the hard drive?

Should I perform a high level format, and how?

There are numerous howtos at the HDD manufacturers' web sites. BTW "low level formatting" is a misnomer. It really is just zero-filling the drive.

Check the drive with HEX editor to confirm that its filled with zeroes. If it is - thats it. Dont have to do anything else.
