DVR and Data

July 20th, 2015, 13:16

Hello!

I want to copy (recovery?) the recordings from the HDD of my digital video recorder to my PC. The DVR has an USB interface but it is deactived at this firmware so I cannot use it. So I removed the HDD from the DVR and connected it to my PC. The filesystem is unknown so I cannot search for the recordings on the HDD. Does somebody has a glue how I can determine the filesystem or better: how I can copy the recordings from this HDD?

I found the following manual, but I'm not sure how applicable it is to your model:

http://www.free-instruction-manuals.com ... 042231.pdf

The manual states that recording to a USB mass storage device is disabled (because USB does not have the bandwidth to record multiple video streams), but backing up existing recordings to USB is still possible. If the unit has an eSATA port, then full record/playback is possible via this route.

If there is a LAN port, then it should be possible to retrieve recordings over the network using the supplied "My DVR" application.
