drive stop spinning BUT can access TERMINAL

August 20th, 2015, 9:52

hello,

I have a Seagate ST9500325AS that spin then stop after I hear noise (but not click or beep) but I can access Terminal even after the drive stop. Here the terminal output :

Could it be a FW and not Head issue?

Thank you for your reply.

The solution proposed is when drive ID is read and drive continue spinning. In my case, drive stop spinning but I can access terminal

sorry didn't noticed, i thought that you manually stop the spinning by /2Z command

As I had access to terminal, I tied to stop then start the drive by Terminal command which worked for STOP but not for START :(

I think it's more likely a head issue.
